Branding
Buena Suerte
Mexican Restaurant branding. I want to share the details about the upcoming modern Mexican restaurant, Buenas Suerte. It will be a casual dining experience crafted by a local celebrity chef, who not only has a deep understanding of Mexican cuisine but also a personal connection to it. Born and raised on a Mexican ranch in the 80s, the chef is blending traditional Mexican recipes with modern cooking styles. The restaurant’s branding aims to feature modern, clean, attractive, and elegant designs. These design elements should come together to evoke a sense of modern nostalgia in a Mexican ranch kitchen.
OChena Design has been selected to create an identity for Buenas Suerte. The research for this project was a meticulous process, starting with translating and deconstructing the name ‘Buenas Suerte,’ which translates to ‘good luck.’ The name was chosen because of the Mexican tradition of young people leaving home and receiving good luck from their loved ones. The branding was designed to evoke memories of the land they left behind, hence the focus on nostalgia, a key element in our branding strategy.
I took a modern approach by keeping the logo and brand design simple. For this project I used only one color, with options for variation based on the environment. I also decided to use just two fonts throughout the brand to maintain consistency and manageability.
I chose an Everglade green (dark green) to give the design an organic feel and a contrasting wafer light color that complements the nostalgic Mexican dirt roads. Additionally, I incorporated a complementary burnt orange color to add highlights. These colors also nod to the Mexican flag’s green, white, and red.
Overall, I am incredibly pleased with the Mexican restaurant branding, including the combination of fonts, colors, and shapes.
